Congratulations. I only lost about 20 pounds, and have gained some of
that back this summer, but it does feel real good. I told my wife
today that as of Labor Day, the alcohol is limited to the weekends,
the deserts are gone, and its back to the weights at least two days a
week.

I weighed 150 lbs when I graduated high school...I started slowly but
surely putting on weight in college and got to about 180. I gave up
alcohol and pop (Soda or Coke to some of you weirdos) and got down to
170 with no effort at all...that's right where I sit right now. I
definitely need to start doing some exercise though...I get winded way
too easily for someone my age.

Not to be stupid, but alcohol puts on weight?

alcohol is sugar, so it has calories. your typical can of beer has about the same cals as a can of soda.

for some people, the easiest way to drop weight immediately is to eliminate liquid calories - cut out the booze, switch from regular soda to diet, etc.
