It would if you supported Christian schools. Let's put it this way...
in order for education to succeed, the schools and the parents need to
be in unity about A. What is taught B. Discipline C. Dress Code, etc.
etc. It's much easier to have that unity if at least one of the
parents is on the same page as the school.

It seems like a lot of that isn't especially intimately tied to Christian
beliefs though, and on the parts that are there is much disagreement
among various Christian sects.

What if I decided to put my daughter in, say, a Seventh Day Adventist
school? You realize, of course, that a lot of Seventh Day Adventist
schools adhere to their beliefs...dietary laws, etc. If I didn't agree
with their beliefs, it would certainly make things difficult for the
teachers, my daughter, the other students, etc.

Sure... and I think a code of conduct (you're child will be expected to
do x,y,z etc.) makes sense - but the requirement of belief seems a little
odd to me, especially given that only one parent has to hold that belief.
