You got one, this is the time to post a cite proving the
report is

incorrect.

It took me 4 seconds with Google. And I've got BRANE DAMAGE.

See, I would have checked out this story BEFORE I posted it.
But me and facts are different than you and facts.

There are some people with whom I don't generally disagree
without bein
g
a jerk about it. In the course of my dealings with them, I've
decided

that courtesy is wasted upon them, etc. A rough standard,
perhaps.

On the other hand, you don't seem to be able to disagree with
anyone at

all without being a complete and total jerk about it. Why is
that?

You shouldn't have picked Schrumpf as your example. I have no
idea if I act rude towards real people.

I'd buy James a beer.

And rich still hasn't posted a cite. I've posted several, one from
the Beeb. And every news site I've checked today (8 July) is still
showing this as a story.

C'mon, rich. Quit telling us you can find a refutation in 4
googlesecs and just post the thing.

I say it's not out there. Google "spicy food racism" and see how
many refutations are out there. I didn't find any. Is google
borked for me?

Crikey, you know me: if I'm proven wrong, I'll eat a whole crow.
But you gotta show me a reputable refuation, or a correction from
the BBC or SOMETHING, otherwise it's your word against the
internets.

So, tell me exactly what your claim is, and I'll give you
a refutation. In one or two sentences.

rich

Forget it.

You've been arguing this point for all this time and you don't even
know what your're arguing _against_?

You are dain bramaged.

Heh. Tell me what your claim is, clearly, in one or two
sentences, and I'll show you proof it's not true.

I see that you just refused to make your claim clear, by
appealing to my brain damage. You'll get one more chance,
though.

It's funny. Two of you are demanding proof against your
claim, while still refusing to say exactly what your claim
is. Was this in the weasel playbook last week?

rich

It's fascinating that you were able to find a refuation in mere seconds
of something you don't remember.

Anyway, here's my original post:

Remember mia's post about how his kids will eat what he eats, and none
of this chicken nuggets/mac-and-cheese because they don't like his
choices?

Well, it looks like mia's just ahead of the curve. The Brits have
this to say about that:

Toddlers who dislike spicy food 'racist'
By Rosa Prince, Political Correspondent
Last Updated: 10:15AM BST 07/07/2008

Toddlers who turn their noses up at spicy food from overseas could be
branded racists by a Government-sponsored agency.

The National Children's Bureau, which receives £12 million a year,
mainly from Government funded organisations, has issued guidance to
play leaders and nursery teachers advising them to be alert for racist
incidents among youngsters in their care.

This could include a child of as young as three who says "yuk" in
response to being served unfamiliar foreign food.

* * *

4... 3... 2... 1... Go.

Okay, you refuse to make any clear claims.

The claim you seem to be making above I can easily counter.
"The Brits" are making this claim EXACTLY as much as "The Brits"
are countering and complaining about this claim.

Now, if you'd like to make a clear claim, make it, or else just
keep whining and weaseling and hoping that people will agree with
you without you ever making a clear point.

Your turn.

rich

The woman who wrote the article didn't dispute the statements were in the
pamphlet. She claims they were "misrepresented", whatever that means.

From the National Children's Bureau:

"References to use of the word ?yuk?, ?spicy foods? and reporting young
children to local authorities, in this 366-page book, have been
misrepresented and misunderstood as a consequence of that.?"

So the NCB admits that the language is in the book, and specifically that
there is a reference to "reporting young children to local authorities."

That's my specific claim. Now, show me where that language is not in the
NCB, as even the author admits it is.
