It's a normal function of Outlook when it starts up, and then when ever
it wants to after that....

When it starts up, it doesn't take forever and lockup the machine.

It depends on how big your mailbox is. It syncs everything, not just your
inbox. I've seen some at the State of Texas take 15 minutes.

Course, you might as well take a coffee break, cause you ain't doing jack
*** until it's finsihed with you.

Deleting some of the old stuff would help?
