The problem is that some a you people seem to think that Obama's
expression of his opinion on a given matter means he thinks government

So what do you think he means?

I think he means we ought to, as a society, work toward a more
sustainable way of living, because we use a grossly disproportionate
percentage of the planet's resources for our population.

Maybe he needs you to be his speech writer because what you said is
acceptable - what he said is not.

It's called setting an example for nations with a billion people so they
don't try to live the same way we do and, in so doing, deplete Earth to
death.

What gave you the impression that he thinks government ought to control
the things he sees as problematic activities in our culture?

Because his plans involve taxing the rich to pay the worthless, plus a
few deserving poor - pure socialism.

Can't someone simply lead by being an outspoken advocate for a different
way of life without it portending some kind of government crackdown on
your thermostats?\

Not in this era they can't.

Why?

Because nothing less than government has the power to accomplish very
much in a short time.

Unfortunately, our other "choice" in this election is for pretty much
the same thing, just not as aggressive. Just call him Obama-lite.
I'm looking forward to having a president that isn't an abject idiot.
Baby steps.

Then don't support a socialist.

And you had one in the Draft Dodger in the Oral Office.

You've got to be kidding. Clinton was no more a socialist than the man
in the moon.

I said nothing about socialist. I was responding to your "abject
idiot" comment. Clinton may have been a pitiful human but he was not
an idiot

In any event, even if he was, I didn't support him. Never have. PFO.

Your labels are failing you. Get some relevant ones, please.

And you are having extreme difficulty following the exchange of
comments. You've spun so many comments that you are dizzy.
