I am going to be a "change agent!!" (Or "agent of change.")
Apparently this means I have to maximize my strengths, minimize my
weaknesses, take advantage of my opportunities, and deflect my
threats. I think I can do this!!!
I also have to be a "catalyst." Now, not knowing exactly what that
means, I looked it up...
"A substance that causes or accelerates a chemical reaction without
itself being affected."
Hmmm....well I don't know about this. But what does chemistry have to
do with being a "change agent" (or "agent of change???!!!???)
Regardless, in order to become a "change agent" (or "agent of change")
I also have to engage in "transformational leadership." This means I
have to take a visionary position and compel people to follow me!!!
WHOOT!!!! I don't know about the having visions part, but I am fairly
certain I can get people to follow me. I'll just buy the first round!
That should be easy to do after this conference!
I'm afraid we're going to have to push back.
At this juncture, we want to put your conversion to a change agent on
the parking lot until we've had a chance to do a cold-eye review.
Onboarding a new change agent can be disadvantaging. We've
plus-delta'd this before, and, net, net, net, we don't necessarily get
the low hanging fruit we are expectating.
Your lack of soft-side skills is driving us to this tipping point.
Instead, we will go outside the box. We will advantagize our best
practices. We want to incentivize you to reach stretch goals. Push
the envelope. The learnings you achieve will become a core competency,
and once we see the metrics, our vision is that we can empower you into
a change agent role.
We think this is a win-win. We don't risk a performance issue due to
the gaps we've identified in your change agentability. We front load
your training, we empower your drive, we benchmark your growth. And we
proactively move you to a change agent when we can achieve the best
synergy.
We trust you have alignment with this process. We think it is a slam
dunk.

Going forward, this is going to require a deep-dive into our corporate
culture. TIA.
