When you define something by what it isn't, chances are that
either you don't know what it is, or don't want to acknowledge
the truth of it. In your own mind, at least, you need to think
through what the thing actually *is*, irrespective of context,
and proceed from there, then mindful of context.
Very insightful and a very good point.
Thank you.
As far as blanket statements about what married guys do, there
is no answer. Everybody is different, everybody does different
things, and everybody has different situations and different
reasons. You will find no wisdom asking questions of that
nature.
I'm aware of that. I was looking for various opinions, realizing that
everybody *does* do different things. It's interesting--I wasn't
expecting one answer.
Well, you are going to find some guys who are unhappy with their
situations and are looking for distractions. You will find some
guys who are happy with their situations who just like to flirt.
You will find some guys unhappy with their situations subconsciously
looking for a way out. You will find guys unhappy with their
situations who want out, but for their own reasons will never
actually leave. You will find some serial cheaters always looking
for the next woman to cheat with and then on. Never forget that
people are, as a rule, fucked up. Some are benign and some are
dangerous, but pretty much everybody is carrying baggage.
Love is beautiful and simple. Humans are messy and complicated.
This is why, for many, the longing never stops -- you can't get
the former without the latter.
