how do you know you're
reading truth? There are 100's of texts, 100's of
translations, 100's of paraphrases, and they span the entire
spectrum of doctrine. Many don't even teach the Deity of
Jesus, would you like me to read one of those "as a child"? If
God is going to show me the truth regardless of which one I'm
reading, I might as well be reading my Spidey comics.

I don't know what you meant when you wrote that. I am sorry. I
stand corrected, semantics do matter sometimes. :)

So, according to Dan I can just pick up any Bible. That makes
about as much sense as picking up an "Amazing Spiderman" and
believing it's going to contain truth.

Sorry Dan, I have to approach what I study with an understanding of
who translated it, what texts they used, what biases they may have
had, what group sanctioned it, and how it meshes with my doctrinal
beliefs. I don't look for errors, sometimes they are just there.
