But if you think about it, what other coach in college football is
more likely to die right there on the sidelines?

Mangino and Friedgen come to mind...

If Maryland and Kansas played, how far apart would the coaches have to
stay so that their mutual gravitational attraction didn't pull them
off their feet?

Considering the nature of gravitational force, only one of them would
be pulled off his feet.

And I'm betting it would be Friedgen.

Why only one? Wouldn't two enormous masses having relatively equal gravity
fields want to meet at the center of rotation, or something like that?

The way I see it unless they have exactly equal mass one will have a
greater gravitational pull than the other and be captured in the
gravitational pull of the one with the greater mass.
