oh....I forgot about your b-ball coach!
The idea that any athletic dept who hires bob freakin
huggins(and a whole year into his Kstate contract!) is going to
bitch about "how a coach left" is hilarious.
You miss the entire point (as usual).
No Mountaineer is blaming UM for RR's departure; we don't even
blame RR for taking what he sees as a better job. It's HOW he
left for the job -- and being as ethically and morally-challenged
as you are, no one is surprised you can't understand this.
But at the bottom, Huggins came back to WVU, where he played and
graduated (and where I watched him in the mid-to-late-70s). RR
left for unknown pastures, and hearing him talk about "The big
house" and moaning "It's beautiful" while walking onto the field
has the sound of a mid-priced prostitute telling you how big your
schlosser is.
That's relativist bull***. Bob Huggins signed a five year
contract and left after year one. Furthermore, Huggins was offered
the WVU 'job before and turned it down. The lure of dear ole alma
mater didn't matter then...because the benjamins didn't add up. I
think the problem you are having is one guy turned his back on your
school and your state while the other one didn't.
You miss the fact that I don't blame UM for RR leaving, and I'm not
defending whatever Huggins did when leaving KSU.
However, I've read a lot about the Huggins move, and how he:
profusely apologized to KSU for going; didn't take coaches with him;
didn't recruit players to WVU that he had for KSU, among others.
Apparently, even though Huggins left after a year, he did so with a
lot more class than RR did after seven.
And please stop with the Don Nehlen crap. He knew he was never
going to be offered that 'job.
Again, the point completely missed. It doesn't matter that he never
got the offer, he made it clear he would go IF he did. If you can't
see the difference, you're as ethically/morally-challenged as mia.
Uh...no. He lied. I understand that. I just think blasting one
coach for lying and leaving, yet accepting another one who left under
similar circumstances, is a little hypcritical.
Jon
Who lied? Nehlen? Or RR? Nehlen may have been delusional thinking that
UM would offer him the job, but that's not lying. RR, however, lied
early and often.
You haven't yet established that Huggins' and RR's leaving were in any
way similar, except for being before their contracts expired.
