I disagree. You mention the name "Genghis Khan" and people know exactly
what you're talking about. Ask the Russians about the early ties between
the Tsars and the Mongols. Russian history is a riverting read.

- Which "alien" civilization really landed in America first?
Sometimes I wonder if African's might have landed in the America's
before europeans. I only say that as the West Coast of Africa is much
nearer to South America than the Iberian Peninsula is to the Atlantic
coast of America. Then also Japan/Russia is so close to North America
the Northern tip that it is odd they wouldn't have strayed onto the
continent.

There is evidence for many pre-Columbus contact between the "New World"
and the "Old World". I do not doubt that many of the "native" cultures
of north America are in fact decendants of those that traveled across
the Bering land bridge or across the Pacific. Columbus got famous
(relatively speaking) because he came over and went back...repeatedly.

- Why didn't Alexander the Great or Gengis Khan advance into India or
Europe respectively? They *could've*. They had the means, it's not
like there was an army ready to stop them. Nor was there a Russian
winter situation that stopped the Germans in the 20th century. It is
puzzling.

I'd have to imagine that the Himalayas are a good natural barrier for
India. Alexander allegedly did travel as far as India. As for the Nazis
in Winter...Why? You're bombing the bajeezus out of the British. You own
the Atlantic shipping lanes. The Americans are getting involved without
getting involved. You have England prepped for the RUTS. The coal in
Wales and the oil in the North Sea is there for the taking, not to
mention the shipyards. And you open ANOTHER FRONT? Arrogant and stupid.

- I often wonder what the first reaction of people seeing others with
different physical appearances must've been (like in "things fall
apart" I think that was a good description of how an African seeing a
European for the first time must've felt).

"oh shit, we're doomed."
