More words of wisdom from families of slain VT students calling for
Steger's firing (from the AP):

William O'Neil, whose son Daniel was killed:

"The report says "the police SHOULD have done this, or they ERRED in
doing that... But there's no accountability in there. It's just "well
they erred, and life goes on".

"They were pursuing one person, off campus, and totally ignoring
everyone else. And they had no real basis to be pursuing that one
person, except that he had guns. So they should have shut down the
campus. They should have cancelled classes".

Cathy Read, mother of slain student Karen:

"As you read the report, it's clear that so many of the mistakes were
a result of failure of leadership at the very top levels of the
university. It's hard to believe this happened, that the university
made all these mistakes ... and that nobody will be held accountable".

These parents are correct. It's amazing that the documented ineptitude
of President Steger and his leadership team will go unpunished.
Astonishing.

Talk about accountability...

Here s a wonderful example of the great benefits that religion
provides to all of us - from today s (Aug. 27) Washington Post. Seung
Hui Cho, the Virginia Tech killer, suffered from a severe anxiety
disorder known as "selective mutism." While he was in high school, the
Fairfax school system provided him with a special education plan to
help him, but that came to an end when he went to college. Said the
Post:

"As recently as last summer, Cho s mother had sought out members
of One Mind Church in Woodbridge (VA) to purge him of what the pastor
there called the "demonic power" possessing him".

Why shouldn't this pastor and these members be held accountable? Did
they not pray well enough? Didn't god hear them? Obviously, this was
on god's radar so why did he allow it to happen? Did the victims
deserve it in his eyes?
