So my driver side power window won't roll up.
I guess the motor still works because when I push the automatic button
sometimes I heard the motor running and the window trying to go up.
But it doesn't move up. The other door window does work fine.
Anyways, I guess it's off-track or the regulator is messed up or the
attachements are messed up or whatever......
I have no interest whatsoever in ****ing around for several hours
trying to remove the door panel to find out what's wrong(and it's
doubtful I'd know how to fix it anyways).
So my question is- is this something I can have done at pretty much
any general repair shop, or is it something that you need to take to
your car's specific dealer for?
Also, what's the most something like this could cost? thanks.....
It's probably something you can do in your driveway in about 30 minutes
with a screwdriver and pliers.
I just don't want to take the door panel off and screw around with the
attachments within the apparatus and then not be able to put it back
together......if I visit home in the next week or two I might let my
stepdad see if it's something he could do quickly. I'm sure some of
your more mechanically inclined rsfckers could do it, but I'm not at
that level. If it was something I thought I could do in 30 minutes or
so of course I'd just do it myself.....but I dont think I could.
You may need high strength epoxy (from
the auto parts store) if the thingamajig came unglued. I'd sooner
drive without a window than pay someone $200 bucks for something I can
do in a half an hour.
I wouldn't be that upset if it was only 200 bucks or so replace/fix a
lever or so after labor......I was just making sure it's not like 2000
dollars or whatever to take off the door panel and do whatever......

Sometimes those things just get a little off track and you only need
to yank up on the glass with the switch on until it catches. If not,
you're gonna pay, or spend more than a half hour fixing it.
And you'll probably break a few of those little snap pins that hold
the door panel on.
