My back molar filling fell out a while ago; didn't really
bother me much til two weeks ago and the PAIN started. PAIN

night.
As a reference for next time... Advil is the pain reliever for
tooth pain. The pain... goes... away. Seriously.
Four 200mg Advils are equivalent to one prescription 800mg
Advil. A doc will typically prescribe up to four 800mg doses
per day... 3200mg.
My dentist said to take regular Advil for the pain until I could
get in to get an abcess fixed. He said that way I could control
the dosage more precisely than if he prescribed 800mg doses, and
could take more than four per day.
He said use enough Advil to kill the pain (three worked for me),
and then take the next dose when you "just" begin to feel it
again. That way, the new dose takes over before the old dose
wears off too far.
I took 600mg at a shot, so I could take 5 doses per day.
Yep, Advil is the king for tooth pain.
I've been putting off a root canal for a while now, at least until
I get this move over with. Doc was nice enough to hook me up with
an antibiotic to buy me another month before the real pain hits.
