Can't say as I'll miss him.

My mom (and by virtue subordination, I) used to watch him almost every
day. This was in the years of Jim and Tammy Fay, Earnest Angeley,
before all the scandels. I actually had a lot a respect for the guy.
He was the least boisterous and proud of the bunch, and seemed to walk
the walk.
The heavy in your lighthearted day
They're all basically carneys fleecing the marks. Living a life of
luxury at the expense of his "flock". "The God I believe in isn't
short of cash" ($1 to Bono/U2).
Don't you believe that one should tithe. I don't believe there is a church out there that doesn't take in tithes.
That's an odd sideline for you to say, unless you think that besides
needing to tithe, you need to let Falwell and Robertson steal the
tithes.

Who said that a church can't conduct business. No one said anything else about stealing, and I don't remember Robertson being part of the conversation up until now.

Rightee tightee, leftee loosee, right?
I think you better re-read your bible. That character names Jesus had something to say about that.

You are to bring a tenth of your increase into the temple, Malachi ch 4. And, Jesus didn't refer to the church raising money, but rather the operation a bazaar in the temple. It's been a matter of debate even amoung protesant denominations as to whether to sell items in the church, but most agree that if it's for raising money to conduct operations that increase the kingdom, finance church events, bake sales, music sales, book sales are justified outside of the intake of tithes.
But, i digress. How does paying a CEO of a major operation not justified. He wasn't a member of the Catholic church and didn't take a vow of poverty. We pay our pastor a salary.

Yur welcome
OK, I guess Falwell lining his own pockets and paying for whores with the money he collected is fine then. I don't have a problem with it because I can see him (and his ilk) for what they are. If people are dumb enough to give him their money, mores the pity. Personally, I always thought it was about being kind to each other, not screwing people out of their money selling them tickets to heaven.
