Why is this celebrated in the USA? Do they celebrate the 4th of July in
Mexico? I seriously doubt it.

Cinco de Mayo isn't Mexican independence day.
The Irish don't celebrate St. Patrick's day like the US does either.
The USA loves an excuse to have a drunked celebration.
