What the future holds?

As TPTB gradually move most sports worth watching to some form of pay-
tv, what will the traditional broadcast networks be left with? Here is
one answer:

HORSE RACING FROM DUBAI

Now...why in the name of all that's holy would I care about watching
the rich folk cavorting about in a far-away Arab shiekdom as their
ponies run around the track? Especially when I can't bet on them???.
Yes, that is what ABC showed for 90 minutes this afternoon. We saw
glimpses of the desert and men in flowing robes, just so we'd know
it's for real. They even had Chris Fowler there. Otherwise, it looked
much like a night at Hollywood Park. I expect the fireworks and fancy
electronics were much nicer, though.

I am holding out hope that we will yet be spared "ABC's Wide, Wide
World of Karaoke". Don't know what I will do if that happens. They say
suicide is painless.
