You might try posting the question on alt.home.repair or even

Why ask people who will pile on Jargon???
Maybe because they kinda know the subject matter? A couple response
here have been, mmm, amusing. Besides which, I really don't notice
the use of much "jargon" - they understand their audience isn't always
pros. Otherwise, they'd already know the answers, right.
Or does a college group need bush level language?

This morning, the wife leaned against the tub tile... and went straight

It's not that she's heavy, it's that the lathe and plaster had become so
soaked from the years of showers that it just failed.
So... what do I do? Is it just a case of demo, sheetrock, and retile? Or
should I bring in a contractor? Anyone else had this problem?
