if you ever have any doubt just sit with a foreigner in a foreign
land for a bit and then see their eyes when they arrive here. I
have. Most of you have not. I suspect virtually none of you
anti-America liberal commieshitstains have.

When I went to Copenhagen for a business trip a few years ago, I was
wide-eyed and amazed. The roads were wide and clean, people were
riding bikes to work in scores to conserve energy and stay fit at the
same time, I felt as safe as in any big city I've ever visited, the
babes were hawt and tall, the wireless keyboard in my hotel worked.

It was eye-opening for me that another country had as much to offer
and a standard of living as good as America.

America is great, but without actually living anywhere else (except
Third World Jamaica), the claim of "Greatest Nation in World History"
is rather bombastic.

Well I have a lot up on you because I have lived in several other countries
around the world including in Europe and Asia. It isn't bombastic. It is
true. There simply is nowhere better then this country. A visit to
Copenhagen to experience touristy stuff doesn't compare rationally to
everyday living in the USA.

Deer Charles,

Your subjective pile of steaming turd withstanding....

I live in a no-frills state; the state of Texas. I like it here. I grew
up here. I think it's the best state in the United States; however, we
have big problems with border control, gangs, poverty, education,
criminals, etc., etc., etc. But, if you have money and power, you rool.

Likewise, the United States is a no-frills country. If you have a bit
of know-how, chutzpah, and some seed money, you can go very far, still,
here in the center of the commercial universe. If you are
disadvantaged, it can be an awfully skary place.

I think this is the best country in the world, but, there are places,
if one had to rely on the mercy and generosity of a state and its
people, that one would rather be, I would think. So, for this reason, I
think "world history" is a bit of a stretch. I think, to some people,
there are greater nations, right now, than our United States.

The disadvantaged are the Western World's biggest problem these days
(that is, middle eastern boys growing into insane extremists, because
of poverty and the mindset of release from the day to day struggle to
simply survive in their environment). For this to be the greatest
nation in world history, we need to start working toward moving the
majority of the world out of poverty.

These people need a reason to get up in the morning. I don't understand
the mindset, so, it has to be something that the local autonomous
leaders can put in place, to move the destitute toward a more
self-respecting way of life. This country, along with other wealthy
nations, and the UN, need to lead in this effort. Then, and only then,
will the United States be committed to history as the greatest nation
in world, from the beginning of recorded time.

Bono is correct.
