:I do understand that blood is thicker than water, but family is just as
:capable of taking advantage/using as the rest of the world. I am more
apt
:to be more lenient with family, give more chance with family...but maybe
I
:just know I have a few family members that are likely to take advantage
of a
:person's generosity.

Everyone takes advantage from time to time.. whether they realize it or
not. I'd bet every dime I have that you've done it yourself.

With family, it's not so much taking advantage, really. With non-
family, that's when it's really despicable.. well.. can be, anyway.
Taking advantage for a few bucks or a few hours.. not really a big deal.
But if we're talking about real dependency.. weeks and months and
thousands of dollars.. yikes.. that's damning and should be punished
accordingly. There's a special place in Hell for those sort of "users".

I am talking about something long term, yes...

I go out of my way to help friends and family, and it's a two-way street.
That's the difference. It goes both ways. Maybe I've been burned enough in
the past in "one way relationships" that I don't have as much patience for
it.
