If it weren't for the MaV'S being on ABC instead of TNTHD, I would have
prolly never figured out why my 50 inch Wega LCD wouldn't receive HD
transmissions over the air. But, because it's just not the same without HD,
I found my instruction book for my Dish HD Receiver and started reading.

Seems Dish calls over the air (antenna usage) or cable connection, " Off Air
Broadcast". I guess they came about this because its not DSS. Seems
stoopid to me so I never paid any attention to it.

Well....I had my external HD antenna connected to the Sony TV but never got
HD reception on the local channels. I just blew it off and was about to
cancel the local service part of my contract since the video sucked on local
stations via DSS. I followed the really simple directions of page 27 in
your Dish HD Sat Guide book and connected my HD external ant to the cable in
(meaning cable TV and DIGITAL ANTENNA) Them bastards ever talk English I
wouldn't have gone this long without it. So I connect the ant to the dish
receiver and program the digital local stations, NOT THE ANALOG ones. It
took about 20 minutes and was really slow. But when it was done, I have
about 50 local digital channels that aren't on the Satellite. Interesting,
I wish I had known sooner. Anyway, I watched the Mavs last night in HD on
regular TV...... Looked just as good as DiscoveryHD.

I am happy now.

And have many side, sub channels to play with to see what they do.

I'm a directv subsriber and they give us the local channels, but not in
HD. I went and got a decent Terk antenna and it pulls in the local
digitals easily and then I just added them to my program guide.
