Shortly after the Mac came out, a friend of mine, a complete computer
novice, bought one for her young son. He was uninterested, so rather
than letting the investment lie unwasted, she stumbled upon Forth for
the Mac and taught herself to program with it. I've never quite gotten
the most apt comparison, but it seems akin to learning Greek by reading
the works of Michael Ventris.
