Schools should focus on teaching. If there's no safety issue, stay the
fuck out of the kids' dresser drawers.

I can tell you from first hand experience that things like hats,
whorish clothes, and lots of other "fashion statements" can and often
are distractions. Courts have repeatedly ruled that schools have every
right to limit them, and I think they should do so more often.....

Teen age girls are distractions to teen age boys. Should the court
rule on that?

what if a kid gave a speech in high school and used sexual innuendo?
Is that a first ammendment right?

I have a slew of opinions.

Try saying it's not and prepare to repel boarders (the ACLU).

With no parents involved the innuendo might be more acceptable. With
parents attending the intelligent person would show some discretion.

When first amendment challenges personal responsibliity I'll bet on
the former and pull for the latter.

I am a big fan of the double entendre. It's a comedy hearing people
tell others what you meant.

My sons or grandsons showing a distinct lack of taste in a speech
would hear about it from me. Other sons or grandsons would get a,
"Well, what did you expect from those people?"

But times are changing. Our son and d-i-l wanted my wife and me to
watch the "The Fokkers II" (whatever) and we watched with them last
night. I would have gone to extremes to avoid letting my parents know
the film even existed. Our opinions would probably differ on which was
the more decent world.
