James Schrumpf killed six kittens after typing this:
I've built quite a few computers over the last 12 years, so I have
quite a bit of experience with their problems. I'm really just
looking for confirmation of my worst fear.
When the green light is on on the mobo, and when you turn the system
on the power light on the front comes up, but yet there is absolutely
no response from the BIOS, that's either a fried BIOS chip something
else really badly wrong on the mobo, right?
We've already unplugged everything off the board except the video card
and the main drive. If they were bad, wouldn't you at least get an
error beep from the BIOS if the self-check was even running? If it
were just the video card, I should still see the drive light blinking
as the boot proceeded, shouldn't I?
The board is still under warranty, so I can get a replacement. It'll
just be few days' wait.
Can anyone think of any other tests to perform?
Means unseated RAM. Take all RAM out of the slots, reseat just one RAM
chip, try again.
