If you have a friend, let's call him "George", who likes to spend way too much money on hookers and gin by dipping into his kids' college savings; and you have another friend, let's call him "Bill", who likes to spend way too much money putting some of *his* kids through possibly unnecessary schooling and supporting some of the others who are living in his spare room by dipping into his own retirement savings, they aren't exactly the same person.
