Total Respondents 1018
Total Republicans 272
Total Democrats 409
Total Independents 337
So, you have to assume for this poll to be valid, that Democrats
outnumber Republicans 1.5:1 and that Independents outnumber Republicans
by 1.25:1.
Instead of just looking at a poll and celebrating it because it says
something you desperately want to believe, look at the actual data in
the poll and use some critical thinking that you so obviously lack.

It's a bit disingenuous to leave out the next column (the weighted numbers).
If you look at the weighted numbers, they align with multiple surveys on the
demographics of voter registration. They could poll 150 republicans and 300
democrats and as long as they properly weigh them, it would be statistically
valid. In this case, all those numbers are based on those weighted averages
(I know, I checked). Bush is hurt in that poll not by the differences
between registered democrats and republicans, but by the 29% approval
amongst the independents.
