I got the wife unit a nano. So I'm wondering the same thing.
The trick is to get her out of the damb house long enough for me to
plug it in, charge it up, and load some songs to verify it works before
Christmas morning so there's still time to return it and get her
something else if it turns out to be a bust (which is a real possbility
considering we only have a win xp machine with usb 1.1 and firewire,
the latter being no longer supported by ipods).
