It's pretty sweet. It's a 30 minute drive by 4X4 to the nearest
power line. Generator for lights, propane for heat, gravity feed
fresh water pressure from a spring up the ridge. My Bro-in-law
built the habitable room about 10 years ago. His uncle still
lived in the older part until the mid 80's sans any modern
facilities. At night, even Mihos would appreciate the lack of
light pollution.
I love the isolation. Two tracts of private land surrounded by
National Forest accessible only through a locked NF gate means
it's very unlikely we'll be surprised by another hunter.
