A few more shout-outs...
#19 Logan Shumacher - Claremont: Tall and lanky handler that
was able to consistently break to help spread out the
Braineater's offense. Though he could huck, he made few
mistakes and was very key down the stretch.
#15 Devin Drewry - Claremont: Lovingly dubbed Zach Effron
from the sidelines of the finals game, Devin was one of the
workhorses for Claremont, consistently getting open both for
under and deep shots. He had a rough start to the finals,
but was able to turn it around. You'll see in Aguilar's
video that he was the guy who came down with the final
catch, on a much taller defender.
#28 Taren Goins - Harding: Handler with fantastic deep shots
and breaks. Harding had a lot of great cutters, and he was
able to hit them all pretty consistently. He helped lead his
team to the quarters and almost an upset over Claremont.
Taren and his whole team were the classiest bunch of guys
there as well.
#26 ? - Missouri S & T: One of the more athletic players at
the tournament, you could see him bidding everywhere. Seeing
him marked up against Tommy from Claremont made the Semis
very exciting.
#33 Nihal Bhatka - St. John's: 6'5" Freshman who was
definitely one of the better players on Bam. He was a key
guy in their run to the finals, often providing emotional
inspiration to his team. He played balls to the walls in the
finals. It's always really impressive to see a tall player
who isn't awkward.
#8 Matt Kortz - St. John's: One of the handlers on Bam that
kept them in the game. He also had monster pulls that made
the Braineaters start in their own endzone more often than
not.
#21 Pat Kunkel - St. John's: Six foot Freshman who was one
of the stars in the finals. His athleticism provided some
incredible grabs which provided Bam with an early lead over
Claremont.
There are definitely more to add to this list, but it was a
pleasure to watch these guys work.
