I'd start with maybe only 6 franchises and set up 4 events in a 6 week

bring in teams and players from out of town while also soliciting the
locals to attend also. then a finals event with all 6 franchises could
be scheduled for the grand fanalli. i would also sugest that games be
lengthened and rosters be shrunk so that athletes still get their fill
of PT with the reduced, quality over quantity format.

Almost exactly what Cuervo was trying to do back in the early '90s.

almost in one way but completely different in another. I'm talking
about a very refined double elim format with only 4 team divisions/
events. One game going on at a time for the purpose of drawing
spectators.. the rules would be getting enforced a lot differently and
i think cuervo was spread over about a 6 month period. So what i'm
talking about is a much more concentrated and condensed version of
cuervo that would/could be custom made rather than absorbing the
present events. I'm sure when mt dew sceduled their summer action
tour they knocked some events off the schedule or either absorbed
them, but dont think that they didnt essentially start from scratch
when creating their tour, schedule and format. And with as easy as it
is to run a tourny these days, why not start with a clean slate and
customize a packaged series. sure would seem to be a better way to
get potential sponsorship.
