I'm not perfectly comfortable with the quality over quantity approach,
at least not yet.
well thats what most pro leagues do. i thought you were a proponent
of such a thing in ulti. also, thats pretty much the approach that
was used with the world games event, right?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And I'm certain the UPA isn't going to sacrifice
resources for your average UPA member who just wants to play,
you dont think they chanel resources to team usa?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
so that
you can have a better league to showcase. I think that's what you mean
when you assume budgeting will solve it,
budgeting is just fuel for the fire.......its modern and progressive
thinking and application that will solve it. and really theres
nothing all that creative about it. it just a matter of conforming to
the tried and true sports model that already exists.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
instead of just generating
more funds. So, that's not gonna happen anytime soon.
why? cause most board members are all about presevation not
progrssion? do you really think the represent the membership at
large?
------------------------------------------------------
how about the fastest growing sport in the nation and 4.9 million
people (as per sgma anyways.....which should be pretty credible).
so now we have an official, credible, quotable report that confirms
this. that was the whole point of this post 3 pages ago. that's what
we should be happy about.
see now, this is the kind of complacency i'm talking about. while
your sitting their being happy other sports are hard at work leaving
ultimate in the dust and swallowing up its market share.
------------------------------------------------------------------
granted, we already knew this in our hearts,
you might have. i still dont buy it. but that dosent mean i would be
stupid enough not to use it in a sales pitch
---------------------------------------------------------------
but having it on paper from a third party is a good thing.
not if ya dont take advantage of it and milk it for all its
worth......its all just fluff otherwise
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I mean again, you're right from a pure marketing standpoint, but it's
not the UPA's MO at the moment.
thats why i think they are so stupid. "sieze the moment", "no time
like the present", "never up, never in" and my all time favorite
"just do it". these are the creeds of people that took risks and had
those risks pay off.
---------------------------------------------------------------
It's more 'let the kids play'.
yea, thats sad
--------------------------------------------------
X-Games is a weird analogy, I don't quite know how to approach it.
Personally I can't watch the stuff, I get squeamish watching the guys
fly 50 feet in the air on motorcycles that could crush their femurs if
they fell on it wrong.
squeamish???? what a sally! fyi, they have a whole show based on
what happens when people fall wrong. which means there are
advertisers more than willing to attatch their brand to that type of
entertainment. i think you just dont "get it". probably why you are
anti ref.....youve bought into the sotg bull*** that the spirit
zealot upa sold ya.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nice. We're a small company been doing about the same thing for years.
Apartments, fractured condos, nursing homes, self-storage facilities,
and more recently single families and HOAs. Basically finding B and C
properties, fixing em up, renting em up, and shipping em out.
whats your specialty. i my self am a one man show. i dont need no
flim flammin half steppers slowing me down or milkin me out.
you strike me as odd max. on the one had you seem pretty sensible but
on the other you just seem like you dont have what it takes to really
compete aggressively in the business or sports world. your a sheep.
ya got to be a wolf if you really expect to make it.......especially
in the real estate industry. upa administrators are sheep too.....but
all the sheepish upa members look at them as the shepard.....so its a
clasic case of the blind leading the blind......as its the non upa
related people that have made all the really impactfull and inovative
contributions to this sport. its just that the upa somehow seems to
get/take credit for those things. i think its just that they know you
are blind where as they know they have you fooled about their
blindness. alas there is a new hnic with real sports experience so
maybe he can enlighten those chumps up in upa headquarters as to whats
what.
