the point of this rule is to prevent the following:
thrower is walking the disc to the sideline or endzone line (or
brickmark), with the marker following, ready to put on the mark as
soon as the thrower gets to the spot where he's supposed to put the
disc into play. However, on an unlined field
---hold on....so tapping the ground with the disc is for UNLINED
FIELDS?
we made a rule for our sport....that is UNLINED specific?
that's dumb in itself!!!!!!!!!
---AND....why in the hell would the marker EVER be FOLLOWING the
person with the disc?
i freak the *** out when a teammate DOESN'T get to the spot where the
disc is to be put into play FIRST...and EARLY!
Defenders....GO TO THE FRICKIN' SPOT and wait THERE!
didn't the marker used to tap the disc at the brick mark?
why would the marker be walking behind the person with the disc
walking to the brick?????
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
now, if you're primarily an
offensive player, the you might think that getting a free throw by
tricking the marker is a great idea, but it's certainly not
particularly fair from the D's perspective.
----WHO is a primarily O player?
oh....all these weak ass half steppers that play on their teams O
line......and don't play both ways.
weak!
but that's a whole other problem with a lot of you ultimate players.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the ground touch simply
serves to indicate to the marker that you've reached the spot at which
you are going to put the disc into play, and allows the marker to put
a mark on, if they're close enough to do so right away.
---yeah. THAT is the stupid part.
i coach, "keep the frisbee flat from catch the throw"...how the hell
can you do that if you're leaning down to tap the ground?
tapping the ground is the worst most assinine rule in ultimate.
totally unnecessary.
hey defense.....get your head out of your ass and BE WHERE the spot is
BEFORE the thrower....or....give up the free throw.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and to clarify, you do NOT need to ground touch the disc if the
turnover occurs in the middle of the field. it's only if you're
walking the disc from one place (like OB or the endzone) to put the
disc in play at another place (sideline, endzone line, brickmark).
---i know this.
it's a great rule to throw off the timing of the offense.
nice work.
suck the Defenders ***....and screw the Offense.
abolish the ground tap.
aawwwwwwwwww. poor mikey, you lose a second on O to tap in the disc.
cry like a baby about it a little more.
way to go all toad on this and not refute any of the solid points made
as to why this rule exsists.
this game is already geared toward the O having most of the
advanatges, here you are crying about a second you lose? what a
fucking joke.
i don't like this rule either, but you sure are making a shitty case
for why this rule is no good -- keep sucking that defenders ***,
that's what it's about sure.
classic
very lame post Corey. Is this the same corey that i played with out at
new year's fest with Zippo in 2006? Why be so negative towards Mike G?
why do you seem to want to sound so cool in your posts? just sayin'
because with such harsh words like that I am guessing you are ready to
back it up. easy to do when hiding behind a computer screen. Mike G is
a friend of mine and I am calling you out for acting like a bitch in
your post. i thought you were better than that.- Hide quoted text -
it's the same corey, and i'm not afraid of you or mike. is this a
joke? i want to make a few high spirited, name calling posts on rsd
for fun and now you and your carolina bitch want to threaten me with
physical violence? so it's ok for mike to call people names on his
computer, but when i do it, i "better be able to back it up?" you
need my addess to come visit me? or do you want to wait for me to
come to wilmington to pound on me for doing the same thing mike always
does.
i'm just pointing out the same old tired name calling with some
reverse name calling. did you see how mad mike got instantly when i
called him a *** licker or whatever he said to others. it was
embarrassing. i know he doesn't feel embarrassment, so it's cool for
him -- well, except when people locked him in a portapotty shitter, i
bet he was embarrassed then, but otherwise......
steve, funny thing was i said i hate the ground tap too, but mike just
isn't making any good points as to why to get rid of it and then just
calls people name.
looking forward to seeing you guys when you want to punch me in the
face -- sounds like a fun day!
