If you went to play with a team that only threw backhands (or better yet,
exclusively threw push passes), would you refer to that as a stylistic
decision on their part. In other words, they only throw backhands because
they don't know any better, not simply out of a matter of personal
preference or choice. Is this a style issue or an issue of ignorance?
Let's paraphrase this gem of a paragraph.
-sentence 1: Question posed. Stylistic decision or ignorance?
-sentence 2: New question asked, but attempted to mis-label as same
question. New question: Ignorance or ignorance?
Frank, if you're attempting to win by logical debate, attempt logic
first.
A great deal has consistently been made with regards to many of my arguments
that it can be distilled down to simply differences in style, when if
actuality, it is in fact a case of ignorance in the part of the person
attempting to make this distinction.
Once again, you are assuming you are more knowledgeable and skilled
than the entirety of the posters who have responded to your claims.
Remember, that against an established system, the onus is upon you to
PROVE, not CLAIM (yes Frank, those are two different words) your point
to be true. So far the evidence is against you.
-JAM, who you have repeatedly claimed to be the most talented team out
there...'stole' your offense, and upon it being stopped, have since
discarded it as an 'unstoppable' weapon.
-Your own teams, which have attempted to use your 'unstoppable'
system, have been embarrassed in competition. Despite, as one might
say, bringing a gun to a knife fight, except your claims would paint
this to be more akin to a nuclear weapon to a knife fight because in
addition to your unbeatable offense, your teams have had...you!
Yes, I play with a lot of style and yes, my style consists of a lot of
footwork, throw and go, balance, etc. but it is not because of this style
that I've reached the conclusions that I have about the rules.
Sure it is, you want to play in a game where you can throw lots of
your creative flip passes, and instead of relying on outright speed
(as in most ultimate) rely on quick changes of direction and deceptive
moves...which, apparently you have in spades.
Similar to how a team's Ultimate IQ can expand by adding a forearm throw to
an offense that exclusively threw backhands, a team's knowledge of the game
will also expand by incorporating the kinds of techniques required for a
motion offense. To even attempt to debate the issue without understanding
the motion offense is in and of itself, ignorant and to chalk up the
differences between us as stylistic is beyond ignorant.
How hard is the motion offense to understand? You present options in
every direction, and move the disc rapidly among said options in order
to beat the defense, who is vainly attempting to stop throws in every
direction, which cannot be done. By keeping the disc moving, with
short accurate passing, you do not allow the defense time to make a
play on the disc (disc-air-time where a defender can make up ground
and make an athletic play) and with a myriad of throws available you
prevent a mark from having effect.
You'll note that this lost some of it's effectiveness against a
straight up mark, and with an intelligent (not to mention athletic
defense) because they were able to shut down many of the underneath
cuts, and forced harder throws over the mark, or out to the flats
which gave defenders opportunities to make plays. A team that switches
well on the deep cuts allows the other defenders to stay underneath
their man, while preventing easy hucks.
This evidence, along with the underlying issue, has been discussed,
documented, and ignored by you, and yet somehow you feel justified in
claiming that the community itself is ignorant.
Your claims lack basis, your arguments lack (sound) logic, and your
memory is selective and flawed. Your megalomania has lost it's charm.
Try something new.
