Re: craziest play I've ever seen (at nationals)

I've seen this a couple of times over the years.

Technically, it is a strip.

A disc resting on the back of a player constitutes control of a non-spinning
disc.

Lifting the disc off of the player's back is therefore a strip.

The observers blew it again.

I'm not sure how many people were able to see this during the open
finals on sunday, because it happened in a corner of the end-zone. It
was a couple points in, and jonny bravo was on defense. Sockeye was
about to score, the disc was about 10 yards from the end-zone, and the
throw goes up. Both the sockeye receiver and the defender layout, and
the bravo player gets an insane layout D. After he smacks the disc, it
sort of floats up in the air over his head and lands on his back. As
he's still in mid-air, an enterprising sockeye player snags the disc
off his back, and throws a quick 2 yard score. All the jonny bravo
players had no idea what had happened, but the observer saw the whole
thing. The disc didn't really even land on the guys back, it was just
resting there and a split second later it would have fallen to the
ground. The reaction timing involved in this play was totally amazing.
Anybody else see it? It happened so fast I may have gotten some of the
details wrong. I was on the other side of the field from the play too,
so there may have been a better view from the other side. I guess
we'll see it in the video, it happened right in front of the camera.
