The multiple threads on one guy being tackled as he catches a disc and
then spiking the disc onto the defender got me thinking. I'm sure
we've all been in situations on the Ultimate field where we have been
hit/tackled/spiked on unecessarily.
How did you react when this happened to you? Would you react
differently if it happened again? Have you ever retaliated but then
apologized later? Would it have been different if refs were there to
penalize bad behavior?
When I played Elite, there were even less measures to control unruly
behavior than today. But here is my reaction. I would have reacted
by picking up the disc and throwing a backhand as hard as I could at
his face, if his back was to me, the back of his head. When he comes
at me to fight, I pull out some old school Aikido *** and put his ass
down, meanwhile my team has my back on all the jokers coming off the
sideline trying to take a shot. Of course I regret my actions ex post
facto, and apologize on RSD to the frisbee community for crippling
that punk ass bitch at nationals, and talk about how I look forward to
returning to the field after my stint in the Sarasota Jail. That's
how I would have handled it. Not right, but I am an emotional guy.
Don't start nuthin you cain't finish. Swear Allegiance.
