Rickner- Texas State
He threw some ridiculous throws during that crappy weathered third
round, and I wish I could have seen him play in nice weather.
Poon- LSU
I know he was already mentioned but I wanted to add a little to him.
His is one of the best defenders I have ever seen, and normally does a
good job of shutting Justin (Auburn) down. This is one of the main
reasons LSU has ended Auburn's last 4 college tournaments this season.
He has a monster flick and can jump with the best. I didn't get to see
him play that much this weekend, but he is a great player and
definitely should be considered towards the top.
Justin- Auburn
I realize that I am biased but Patrick from aTm seems to agree as well.
Justin is an incredible handler and always manages to get the huck off
even when flat marked by a taller player (he's only 5'9"). He
definitely peaked at the right time, and this year's Regionals was the
best I have ever seen him play. Normally, Auburn has 3-4 players that
throw up the deep shot, but I only remember chasing down 3 hucks NOT
from Justin this weekend. He played nearly flawless, as the only ones
not caught from him were the ones I misread (i.e. first point of the
Texas game). For every great deep threat, there is a great thrower.
That thrower is definitely Justin, and even though he may not make the
All-Region team, he should definitely be recognized as one of the best
players in the Region.
