Here's my take. A pick call is one of the first things you learn in
Ultimate. What I practice and preach to people I play with is if I hear
pick I not only freeze I reiterate it as loud as possible.
Well, you shouldnt stop. At least not until the play does. Get the D.
I've never
been in a situation where I couldn't get play to stop within 1 throw.
Congrats. want a cookie?
One of the
details about the pick rule that is often ignored is that the defender
re-establishes position with their mark, not the other way around.
Everyone should freeze when a pick is called. If players don't freeze,
any player on the field has the right to re-establish position that was
lost because of the stoppage of play.
This isn't really true. The offensive person goes back to the
defender. At least this is how it usually happens. The defender stops
first, and the offensive player goes back to where he should have
stopped when the pick is called. The defender doesn't just go catch up
(which is what i think you are saying).
