2006 Granite City Classic (HS tournament)

On May 6th and 7th the fourth annual GRANITE CITY CLASSIC youth
Ultimate tournament will be held in St. Cloud, Minnesota, on the
athletic fields of St. Cloud State University and hosted by the boys
and girls teams of St. Cloud Cathedral High School.
The two-day event will accept bids from up to five girls' teams (but
can expand this) and fifteen open teams. Overnight housing is available
to teams coming from outside of the greater Twin Cities. Entry is $100,
with bids accepted as early as March 1. We've had verbal commitments
from St. Johns-Ravenscourt and the Madison teams, and I imagine Hopkins
will be back to defend their finals win from last year.
I expect to receive at least a dozen bids from the top Minneapolis/St.
Paul teams, but I am pushing to draw talent from outside the state and
across the midwest. (WI...Steven's Point? Iowa teams? Manitoba
squads(MOFO?) Chicago teams?)
Tourney t-shirt for every player, and on-site breakfast and fruit.
We're right on Interstate highway 94 about an hour north of the Twin
Cities, four hours from Des Moines, five from Madison, seven from
Winnipeg, nine from Chicago.
