Another rules question

In summer league a disc went up that I D'd and I continued to mac it
down the field for an attempt at a Callahan. Is this legal? In the
rules it says it's illegal to intentionally advance the disc in this
manner, but that clause is under the guidelines for receivers and
receivers is defined as an offensive player-which I was not. Is there
anywhere else in the rules that would make what I did illegal? I feel
like it should be illegal, but haven't found the rule that would say it
is.
