SL steady, but not the explosive start that I expected from them..
Canadians are bowling pretty on the spot for most parts.

Nice thing about the TV broadcast in Canada is that there are very
few ads.

Just curious (question from an expat Canadian) -- how active is

It is very active in Toronto area, but mostly due to immigrant kids.
Most high schools in the east end (Scarborough) have very popular
cricket programs. However, exposure in the mainstream media is almost
nothing.  Given the alternatives like MLB, NHL, NFL, CFL, and NBA,
cricket has very little chance.

In Edmonton, West Indians and East Indians and the odd Briton
plays the game with a passion.

I'm not sure if that was the case when I lived in Edmonton (1976-82);
I wasn't aware of any cricket in those days (but then again, I wasn't
looking for it, and may just have missed the scene entirely).

Oi!  About 5 or 6 big clubs in Edmonton now.

Strathcona, Coronation, Aga Khan just to name 3.

Oh, I've no doubt that's the case now -- AFAICR, though, 30 years ago it
didn't really rise above the noise of the Oilers and the Eskimos.

It's great if that's changed.

ah...the days of the city of Champions with the glory years of the
Oilpans and the Eskies.  Hell, even the Drillers soccer team were
champions in the indoor league.  Kai Haasviki (sp?) was a magician in
indoor soccer.

oops...i meant to say Haaskivi although I am still unsure of the
spelling
.
