I wonder what you guys think about this scenario;
A bail jumps/bobbles/flips, whatever you want to call it, that results
in it temporarily being fully separated from the stumps, but then it
falls back into place - not in the groove, but rather on TOP of the
groove. By luck it stays here. It's a windless day.
Would you give it 'out' or 'not out'?
How long would you wait for it to fall? 10 seconds?
Would you replace the bail into the groove after your decision and
before the next ball? If not then, when?
I'd be tempted to call it not out, after about 10 seconds, yet still
replace the bail into its proper position. Mainly to avoid any future
confusion/issues.
