In his autobiography, Steve Waugh described graphically how
Tendulkar
took apart another champion Australian bowler, Glenn McGrath,
in his
home city during the 1996 World Cup. It was an assault that
left
everyone in the stadium with goose bumps, according to Waugh.
"A
savage pull shot that defied the textbooks ignited the
worshippers.
It
was followed by a remarkably improvised hook shot off the front
foot
that only a man with an eye like a dead fish would think of
playing.
"Two balls later, we were all props in his final act of carnage
for
the over, standing helplessly as he unleashed a scorching cover
drive
that was met on the downswing with a deafening roar from the
crowd,
who knew instinctively what the outcome would be."

many a player has taken a bowler to the cleaners, some players
have
taken
a
bowling attack to the cleaners, a few players took a team to the
cleaners
but Bradman is the greatest batsman who over a career took
cricket to
the
cleaners
Bradman didn't take Larwood to the cleaners in the 1932-33
"Bodyline" series.
Really?
In the 1932-33 "Bodyline" series, Bradman played in 4
Tests, scoring 396 runs at an average of 56.57. Bradman
did score these runs against a good, hostile bowling
attack; but I doubt he ever took Larwood to the
cleaners in the Bodyline series. At least, I haven't come
across any such quotes. Also Bradman's average of
56.57 is well below his career average of 99.94.
and a fantastic average which IMHO is indicative of domination of an
attack.
Lower than his normal YES but dominating still.
I don't dispute the fact that Bradman's series average of 56.57
was very good. However, I can't find any evidence of him
dominating the bowling attack; leave alone taking Larwood
to the cleaners in that series. His highest score was 103
not out in the 2nd Test of that series.
Here are quotes from some sources on Bradman's approach
to "fast-leg theory".
Wikipedia - "In the Test matches, Bradman countered Bodyline
by moving toward the leg side, away from the line of the ball,
and cutting it into the vacant off side field. Whilst this was
dubious in terms of batting technique, it seemed the best
way to cope with the barrage, and Bradman averaged 56.57
in the series (an excellent average for most, but well short
of his career average of 99.94), while being struck above the
waist by the ball only once. His team-mates fared worse,
being unable to compile large scores."
Another quote from 334notout.com - "A report from an
Australian paper the following day said "There was a sharp
duel between Bradman and Larwood, and the fast bowler won.
Bradman was edging away from his wicket, and, when he
stood back and tried to cut a ball on his leg stump, was
bowled. It was a bad stroke made with a cross bat and
deserved to fail!"
Scarcely domination by any standards.

Anyone who knows anything about Bodyline knows who won the battle
between Bradman and Larwood, it wasn't even close.
Only a complete idiot would claim Bradman dominated the bowling.
Chukky is our resident idiot, so it's no surprise that he's making the
claim
really Huggies really
Bradman dominated the bowling un the bodyline series with an 50 plus
average. Yes it was very much less than his normal average but so what
bodyline did work to reduce his domination
