Agree entirely -- the web interface is a lot slower, and remarkably
clunky.

The example that springs to mind is threading: last time I checked
it out, Google Groups still didn't handle that very well for long
threads, either in presentation or in retrieval of upthread posts.
It sort of dealt with it, but the assumption struck me as being that
threading was something tacked on to a bulletin-board front-end
display, rather than a critical feature.

Basically, I've yet to see a web interfaces for Usenet which doesn't
suck, big time.
