In my opinion this is what Tendulkar should do this in the near future:
Immediately retire from one day cricket. Eagerly look forward to the tour
of England in June. I have seen him hitting a stupendous double century at
the SCG where he didn't play at balls outside the off stump in other words
eliminated any scoring opportunity outside that uncertain off stump. With
this in mind, he can open up his stance so that any thing pitched on the off
and middle can either be played straight or worked away to the onside. This
strategy will reduce the chances of getting out. With this overwhelming
problem fixed, now he will start growing in confidence.
Once his confidence rises, he will then start middling the ball with
relentless ease. Then he will start stroking the ball. Once he gets into
his stroking mode all attacks will become alike to him - be it England,
Australia or Bermuda.
If he follows my advice as above there is no reason why he cant hit 8 to 9
hundreds in the next two years and hold that world record for most hundreds
in test cricket. That should be his ultimate goal hit so many hundreds that
it will keep ponting at bay. I dont think Lara is a threat any more.
