Oh...."even when".

Since you're a man who is dealing in precise measures and getting picky
about details, perhaps you'd like to tell us how far exactly "3rd man"
is from any particular place that Smith might have been - including
things like gates that Smith might walk through on his way to and from
the field. On smaller grounds with the boundary rope pulled in and
McGrath probably standing a meter or two in from the rope anyway.

At Newlands, Third man is actually right at the gate from which the
players - including the batsman - walks onto the ground.

We want ACCURACY here Colin. 100% accuracy. No contextualising. Not the
sort of "lies" that Smith allegedly served up.

It's not an impossible assertion. The Wanderers is 180 meters across at
it's widest point. At one of the biggest grounds in SA McGrath could
have been at 3rd man AND less than 100 meters away. At what distance
does it become impossible for Smith to hear McGrath?

Personally I find the *** footing around the subject of Australia and
on-field swearing quite amusing.

I really don't care if the Aussies swear on field or not. They are
certainly not alone in that regard.

They do it. They've even said that
verbal abuse of the opposition is part of their game plan. So what's
there to be coy about?

Smiths claims were ridiculous
The broad strokes of Smith's claim were that he caught several
mouthfuls from the Aussies, that he gave some back, and that some of
them are not keen on taking a dose of their own medicine.

"Smith said Hayden had followed him to the crease in his second
innings and "stood on the crease for about two minutes telling me that
I wasn't f---ing good enough"."
Oh... putting the word "about" aside for a moment I believe that you
earlier described this incident as "Hayden abusing him toe to toe for 2
minutes" which is not, let's face it, exactly what Smith said.

Anyway, what is two minutes in reality is very different from what
things feel like in context. Something can easily seem like two
minutes when its in reality 20 seconds. Similarly, something can feel
like 5 minutes when it is in reality 2 minutes. Perspective does not
make on a liar, just incorrect on a specific detail.

Since you've been so quick to call Smith a liar because some details of
a report in which he was quoted cannot possibly have been exactly true,
I think it's reasonable to expect that you at least show a greater
tendency to exactness in your own posts.
