Bull***. First of all Gut feelings don't give analytical reasons like
you did above. Thats why its called Gut-feeling. Your statement is as
stupid as "My gut feeling says that this is going to be a draw, unless
India loses 10 wickets"
Secondly, a human brain would have already run through hundreds of
different scenarios of the outcome. But later, people will remember
only the scenario which actually happened & they attribute it to this
magical gut feeling & will say "They, knew it". Of course they knew it
along with all other possible combinations too
Can you imagine the # of millions who would have said that "I always
had the gut feeling that India will win WC2003 final", if India had
actually won it?
PS: Don't confuse gut feelings with actual skill of predicting an
outcome. Many of the cricket afficionados here can accurately (atleast
90% of the time) predict the result of a stroke in the split second it
hits the bat. Many can predict whether the batter has hit a home run or
not just by listening to the sound of the crack. But this skill
requires watching the game for hundreds of hours. Read Blink by Malcolm
Gladwell for further such insights into this.
But predicting game outcomes by gut feelings are pure bull***. It is
as accurate as predicting the toss of a coin
