The problem was that it didn't bounce, bouncing halfway down the
wicket does not matter one iota, it's where it hit the batsman.

and falling. It wasn't rising, it had already reached its height and
had started to fall. Entirely reasonable decision.

There was no doubt. It was out. The fact that it was an important
decision at an important point in the game does not matter. It was
still out.

Not true. As soon as I saw VVS bat in Adelaide I was certain he was
going to have an effect on the series. Someone has the comms I'm sure.
I think he went on to get 5 or something, but he looked good doing it.
