Well, if not royalty, within aristocratic circles. That's how a Sloane
Ranger like Diana got through. (Conversely, the stock from which
Camilla comes was only fit for fun and games. ISTR reading an
Australian Women's Weekly piece about how her great-grandmother was a
member of Edward VII's harem.)

I'd be surprised if Wills gets away with marrying absolute trailer
trash e.g. Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Simone Warne, Margaret
Thatcher, anyone who's slept with Shane Warne. (Unfortunately that last
proviso might nuke half of Great Britain from the stakes.) Charles may
be a little bit more liberal than his own parents, but if the Queen is
around it won't be all smooth sailing. In saying that, Zara Phillips
appears to have had free reign, but the fact that she has next to no
chance of hitting the throne may have something to do with that.
