I am going to make it on-topic. I know some old boxing techniques from
the 1600s to whenever they changed to gloves that I learned by watching
instructional DVDs. You make out like you're throwing a jab, but just
before it lands, you twist your fist so your thumb is facing down and
smash out the opponent's teeth by raking your palm accross his mouth
(you don't open up your hand, you keep it closed). It's sort of like a
left hook. On second thought, it is. This also breaks his lips. The man
on the tape explains that it's hard to poke someone in the eye because
you often miss the eyeball, so what you can do is smash your palm into
his face and push his head back and with your hand touching his face,
you lift up your thumb and insert it into his eye. He did a spinning
backfist that they do in karate tournaments. If I remember correctlym
he explains that this is an Irish technique. He deomostrated this
Daniel Mendoza move from the 1600s (?) where you push the opponents jab
to the right (your right, not his) with your left hand on his forearem
and then you hit him with a diagnal backfist. I've been saying in here
for years that boxing techniques are the same as asian martial arts and
maybe every move on the DVDs wasn't just boxing ones.

He said that to block a punch that you can point your elbow straight
out and let his foreknuckles hit the tip of your elbow to break his
fingers. But would this do too much damage to your elbow? I think I'd
rather get punched in the face?; it would also hurt less (I theorize)?
