I've been playing pretty good for a few months now, by my own low

Completely. I was making easy shots maybe 50% of the time. Absolutely
hopeless. I assumed that I was being punished for bad karma accrued in
a past life or something, since league is about to start and I'm now on
a competitive team.
Then, eureka! A few days ago, I got up from a shot and wondered what
went wrong. I discovered that I didn't remember seeing the cue ball hit
the object ball. Somehow, I had gotten into the habit of closing my
eyes, or looking away or something. Never mind Loub's advice of
watching everything closely, I wan't watching anything at all. I dunno
why, maybe tired old eyes or something (started smoking again, maybe
that had something to do with it).
Anyhows, I'm back to my regular moderately successful self. I don't
know why on earth I acquired this habit, but I'm glad I figured it out.
Anybody else ever had this?

This is what you get and end up with, by listening to these bozos here
and the nitcompoops on the other fourms you visit. You have been
infected with the dread disease, paralysis by analysis. All this crap
coming in and none of it connects into a single method. The mind
eventually snaps. Gives up.
So put your cue down for a week, erase all this crap in your head,
forget everything, then come back, play by total feel with an empty
head. It will return, mail me a money order for a C note, end of
lesson.
